Iran set for World Cup warm-up with Argentina (16 Feb 2006 16:55 GMT)
Iran is negotiating with Argentina to play a World Cup warm-up match, the head of Iranian Football Federation said.
The Iranian football officials have been in a tight spot for failing to arrange sufficient number of practice matches for the country's World Cup squad.
Mohammad Dadkan did not specify when or where the match would be played, ISNA news agency said Tuesday.
Iran, drawn with Mexico, Angola and Portugal in the 2006 World Cup, will play World Cup qualifiers Costa Rica in a warm-up match on March 1 in Tehran's Azadi stadium.
