Inter weigh up Argentine duo (16 Feb 2006 16:59 GMT)
Inter are lining up a double swoop for Argentina's Diego Milito and Mariano Gonzalez, according to reports in Italy.
Inter have been tracking Real Zaragoza forward Milito for a number of weeks and the 26-year-old did his San Siro prospects no harm whatsoever with four goals in their extraordinary 6-1 Copa Del Rey win over Real Madrid last week.
Milito, whose professional contract is owned by Genoa, has scored 11 goals in La Liga this season and could be the answer to Roberto Mancini's long-standing search for a regular goalscorer.
Genoa have put a £5.5m price tag on the South American's head - a figure that is out of the Spanish side's reach but well within the vast resources of Nerazzurri patron Massimo Moratti.
Palermo's Gonzalez has been one of the few plus points of a troubled season for the Rosanero.
The arrival of Giuseppe Papadopulo appears to have brought the best out of the attacking midfielder, whose move from the wing to playing just behind Andrea Caracciolo has already produced three goals in as many matches from the 24-year-old.
With Franco Semioli expected to move to Palermo in the summer, Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini could well agree to the sale of the promising Gonzalez, with Nicolas Burdisso suggested as a possible makeweight in the deal.
