Riquelme, Sorin set for Champions League game (20 Feb 2006 04:09 GMT)
Villarreal's Argentina midfielders Juan Roman Riquelme and Juan Pablo Sorin resumed training Sunday and are expected to be fit for their team's Champions League match with Glasgow Rangers.
Riquelme has just returned from Argentina, where he spent more than a week having treatment on his left thigh injury. The playmaker last played for Villarreal on Jan. 22.
"He's recovered well from his problems and so, unless there's a recurrence over the next few days, the coach will be able to include him for Glasgow," Villarreal doctor Juan Albors was quoted as saying by news agency Efe.
Sorin, who has been suffering with a calf strain, was withdrawn before the end of Sunday's session as a precaution. However, Albors said he should also play in Wednesday's second-round first-leg game at Ibrox Park.
Only Villarreal captain Quique Alvarez and striker Guillermo Franco are certain to miss the game. Alvarez has a torn left thigh muscle, while Franco has yet to play since moving from Monterrey last month.
