Fergusson won't stop Heinze from playing in the World Cup (28 Feb 2006 17:28 GMT)
Sir Alex Ferguson has promised he won't stop Gabriel Heinze playing in the World Cup for Argentina.
The South American star is well on the road to recovery after snapping his cruciate knee ligament against Villarreal in the Champions League in September.
After initially writing the 6.5 million ($18.3m) star off for the season Ferguson now expects the defender to maybe figure in United's last few games.
"Gaby's progress is very good now and he's on full throttle training every afternoon," he said.
"The latest development is that maybe he will be here at the beginning of April with a possibility of playing before the end of the season."
"That's good news for him in terms of the World Cup - it's not particularly good news for us, but nonetheless it's great to get him back."
"And to be honest I wouldn't be against him playing in the World Cup because it gives him football again."
