Pekerman has chosen 95% of World Cup soccer team (7 Mar 2006 00:54 GMT)
Argentine national soccer team manager, Jose Pekerman, said on Friday he has chosen 95 percent of the players needed for the 23-member Germany 2006 World Cup team.
Speaking to Argentine radio from Basel, where the team lost 2-3 to Croatia in a friendly game, Perkerman said he will choose the remaining five precent in the next few weeks. The deadline for selection in May 15.
He did not deny that Sergio Aguero, 18, already a star in Argentina, might join the national team, describing him as "a key player in the Argentine league".
On the other hand he described as "impermissible" that the national team had lost its last two friendly games (with England and Croatia) the same way, in the last minutes. "But we know that the players that we will choose will know how to overcome that."
