Argentinian players recover from injuries (22 Mar 2006 05:04 GMT)
Argentina's injury problems are showing signs of improvement in the run-up to the World Cup, team doctor Donato Villani said in a radio interview.
Carlos Tevez (Corinthians), who hobbled out of a match two weeks ago, has twisted his knee but not done any serious damage. Tevez said on Monday that he was ready to play again.
Javier Mascherano (Corinthians) has recovered from a stress fracture in his left foot which sidelined him for nearly six months. "He still has to be careful about possible musuclar injuries as he's spent a long time without playing," said Villani.
Roberto Ayala (Valencia) is reported to be ready for action again after a knee operation in February. He has to wait only for his coach to decide when he can play.
Gabierl Heinze (Man Utd) should be able to play in April after injury suffered about 7 months ago. He is likely to start training in the middle of next week.
Leo Messi (Barcelona) is also progressing well after tearing a muscle in his right leg during Champions League tie with Chelsea on March 8.
