Valencia forward Pablo Aimar is under observation in hospital after missing training due to flu symptoms, news reports said Wednesday.
Aimar is suffering from a high temperature and bad headaches, news agency Efe said.
The Argentine forward is expected to remain in hospital overnight, the head of Valencia's medical services, Antonio Giner added.
Aimar missed several training sessions with the same ailment last week but appeared in Valencia's 1-0 league victory over Celta Vigo on Saturday.
The 26-year-old Aimar, who is in his sixth season with Valencia, is expected to be included in Argentina's World Cup squad.
