Milito dismayed by World Cup snub (19 May 2006 04:42 GMT)
Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito has expressed his disappointment at missing out on Argentina's World Cup squad.
Coach Jose Pekerman overlooked Milito in favour of Julio Cruz and Rodrigo Palacio, despite an impressive debut season in La Liga in which he has scored 15 goals for his new club.
Milito said: "Of course I was hoping to be on the list, but I know there was only enough space for 23 players, not big for a country with so many great players."
However, Milito can take some consolation with younger brother and Zaragoza team-mate Gabriel named as one of the defenders to travel to Germany.
"I've plenty of satisfaction with what happened to Gabriel," he added.
