Cambiasso: "Up for the Cup" (26 May 2006 20:24 GMT)
Esteban Cambiasso, Argentina midfielder, is glad with a condition his national team-mates are.
"Sincerely, they're doing great. We are very motivated and we can't wait to play our first match. I would like to point out that we are a very united squad, and this is the most important thing," Cambiasso said.
"The most important thing is for Argentina to play an excellent World Cup. This is our goal and we will work hard to reach it. All those called up are outstanding players, and there is great harmony in the squad. We hope to make the fans very happy," he added.
Cambiasso also told he was very pleased with being one of 23 players chosen by Argentina coach - Jose Pekerman,
"I am proud of playing for the national team, and even more so to be able to play at a World Cup. I had the chance to play a World Cup when I was in the youth team, and now I am in the first team my joy is even greater. To wear the national team shirt is a reason to be cheerful and proud, and it is a responsibility," he stated.
Cambiasso also said that he was sad that players like Javier Zanetti weren't called up, but all the same he added that "we can't talk about those left out now. We must be focused and have an excellent World Cup."
