Atletico Madrid chief: Aguero deal is safe (1 Jun 2006 23:02 GMT)
Atletico Madrid chief Miguel Angel Gil Marín jetted out to Buenos Aries last night to close the deal for Independiente striker Sergio Aguero.
Gil Marin confirmed he was flying to Argentina at yesterday's media conference to unveil new Atletico sports director Jesus Garcia Pitarch and youth development chief Jose Maria Amorrortu.
"We hope to have Aguero in Madrid this weekend to undergo his medical," said Gil Marin. "These signings, like Mariano Pernia, Ze Castro and Sergio Aguero are already completed. Nobody can question them because they are closed."
