Knee bother keeps Ayala out (23 Dec 2005 03:45 GMT)
Argentina and Valencia central defender Roberto Ayala has had an operation on his right knee and should be able to play again in March, according to team doctor Donato Villani.
The 32-year-old centre back twisted his leg in training with Valencia last week, tearing part of the meniscus inside his knee. He had surgery on the same knee in August 2004 following the Athens Olympic Games.
Villani said the surgery had been a success, saying, "He should be able to play around mid-March".
