Lucho Gonzalez' injury not serious (17 Jun 2006 04:19 GMT)
Argentina midfielder Luis Gonzalez said the groin injury he sustained in Friday's 6-0 rout of Serbia and Montenegro was nothing serious.
A pulled muscle in his left groin forced Gonzalez off the field in the 17th minute. Coach Jose Pekerman sent on Esteban Cambiasso, who Gonzalez had originally replaced in the team in a bid to offer more pace.
"I felt a pull, I was told it was minor," Gonzalez told reporters. "I had an X-ray and in a week or ten days I should be fine."
But Pekerman said he expected Gonzalez to be fit for the last Group C match against Netherlands on Wednesday.
"We hope he will recover for the next match," said Pekerman.
