Veron comes back to Argentina (24 Dec 2005 00:12 GMT)

Inter playmaker Juan Sebastian Veron is eyeing a move to Estudiantes de La Plata when he decides to end his Italian stint. The Argentine is tied to Inter until 2007, but will return home to Argentina at the end of this season - despite a lengthy meeting with Inter president Giacinto Facchetti, patron Massimo Moratti and coach Roberto Mancini this week. Inter Milan management have failed to convince Juan Veron to see out his contract at the San Siro.

"It's time for me to leave," said Veron. "I am unhappy at Inter and it's not because of football issues. It's a personal decision. I want to return home and Inter already know my decision."

"I don?t think it will be possible to go back to Argentina right now because I?m in the middle of the Italian Championship and also fighting in the Champions League," he told La Red radio. "I have discussed my future with Inter and they have told me that I have to stay in Italy until June. However, when I decide to return then Estudiantes will be the team who I will give priority to with regard to my signing."

Veron is a key figure in the plans of boss Roberto Mancini but he isn?t viewed in the same way by his national team. Despite his undoubted ability, the former Lazio and Sampdoria man continues to be ignored by Jose Pekerman. "I still have great faith that I will be recalled for the World Cup Finals," insisted the 30-year-old. "If I'm not included in the squad then I will be calm because I know that I did all that was possible to get into the Coach's mind."
