Genoa to net Figueroa (3 Aug 2006 22:18 GMT)
Genoa have reached an agreement with River Plate forward Luciano Figueroa, reports are suggesting.
The 25-year-old player will sign a four-year contract and will receive an impressive £3.5m a season, representing the largest investment in the Grifoni?s history.
Figueroa returned to River Plate in January after a less than brilliant season and a half with Villarreal and impressed the fans scoring nine goals in 15 matches, before being forced to stop after tearing his ligaments in a match against Estudiantes.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi is thrilled about the move and is only concerned about the player?s physical conditions and the medical tests will continue over the next few days, in order to guarantee Figueroa?s complete recovery.
