Racing Santander president Francisco Pernia has revealed he is interested in signing Argentina striker Javier Saviola.
The 24-year-old was rumoured to be on his way to the Premiership after being told he has no future at Barcelona, with Bolton Wanderers reportedly leading the chase for his signature.
However, Saviola may now be given the chance to stay in Spain.
"When Barcelona decided to sell Saviola, the first team that they thought about was Racing," said Pernia. "We are studying the subject and we will spend a little time before we start negotiations, but the fact is that both parties are interested."
