Saviola satisfied with his performances for Sevilla (25 Dec 2005 05:35 GMT)
Javier Saviola does an analysis of the first part of his stay on loan to Sevilla and says he is "satisfied" with his performances, and time has shown he was "wise" to come to Seville on loan, in as much as now he sees more chance to make the World Cup in Germany with Argentina.
Speaking to Diario de Sevilla, Saviola admits that "today what I intend is to go to the World Cup, and that's part of why I am here. To have a chance to be there, one must do well, that is most important. Myself, I am conscious that I need to return to the good form of some weeks ago in which I scored a few goals", he confesses.
After qualifying his performances at Sevilla as "satisfied", the Argentine sees the year as "good to be with a new club, hopefully, with expectations of success Although I recognize that perhaps I can give a lot more, I am enjoying this team. I believe that the change was good for me, that I've succeeded, and anything can happen when the loan is finished", he says. Saviola admits that he can give more, but recalls that the decision to join was made very late. "The truth is that the late arrival cost me much, and later I had a knee injury and now, just when I get my rhythm the holidays arrive. I believe that I'll be able to recharge my batteries and to return with a fresh mind".
As he has already has said on other occasions, he is delighted with the city and with the fans that, with their passion, remind him of Argentina. In any case, he has no doubt that he chose well when he decided to come to Nervión: "I know that I have made a good decision. The team is very good and we have a good group of people here who believe that a good environment is a most important thing. Beyond that we have not finished yet this year at all, I believe that we have shown that we are a very solid team, respected. Although we have not been consistent enough, we have a reputation of being a strong team, difficult to beat, as we showed for example in Barcelona".
