Cufré completes Monaco move (31 Aug 2006 02:13 GMT)
Argentina defender Leandro Cufré has joined AS Monaco FC from AS Roma, five years to the day since he moved to Italy from his homeland.
A centre-half by trade, the 28-year-old has been deployed at left-back during most of his time in Serie A, which included a season on loan at AC Siena in 2003/04. He has signed a three-year contract but no fee has been announced. Cufré, who arrived at Roma in a €3m deal from CD Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, has won four caps and appeared against the Netherlands in the recent World Cup.
