Lionel Scaloni has been released from his contracts with Spanish Primera Liga club Deportivo Coruna.
He had been left out of coach Joaquin Caparros's plans, but failed to secure moves to other clubs before the end of the August 31 transfer deadline.
As he has not been registered to play with Deportivo, under FIFA rules the player is free to join another side at any time.
Scaloni, 28, signed in 1998 was a member of the Argentina squad at the World Cup finals in Germany.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.
