Burdisso recovered from injury (8 Oct 2006 17:29 GMT)
Nicolas Burdisso, out of action since picking up an injury at the World Cup, pulled on an Inter shirt for the first time this season in Thursday's Sky Trophy friendly against Atalanta.
"The most important thing about the day before yesterday is the emotion of the remembrance of Giacinto Facchetti, a great person in everything he did," the Argentine defender said. "On a personal level I have to say I'm happy because I made my return to the pitch after such a long time. It was a positive evening for me. It was important for me to put minutes in my legs and come out of the match in good mental and physical shape. Now there is time to work and improve, both personally and with the team. I am always willing to give more to this group."
"This year we must always be ready when needed. We know we are a strong group, we want to do well and win because we are a great team. We have been criticised a lot over our last matches, but we shouldn't forget the important victories against Fiorentina and Roma. It is fundamental to stay calm at the moment. Only in this way can we return stronger than before," Burdisso added.
