Alfio Basile's 19-man squad for next Wednesday's friendly match against Spain has been gathered. This morning the Argentinians had their first training session together in Murcia, where the game will take place.
Behind close doors, the players did both physical work and ball training. On the match that ended this session, Basile presented what is likely to be his starting eleven in two days' time. After having been the forward duo in Argentina's last game against Brazil, Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez were again the coach's picks this morning, suggesting that they will probably make up the starting attack at Murcia's Nueva Condomina Stadium. The presumable line-up, from what could be seen in the aforementioned training match, would be: Abbondanzieri; Gabriel Milito, Ayala, Coloccini and Arruabarrena; Mascherano, Aimar, Maxi Rodríguez and Insúa; Messi and Tevez.
Tomorrow there will be further training, and both the players and the coach are scheduled to meet with the press.
