Cruz at the centre of a tug-of-war between two Russian clubs (28 Dec 2005 17:55 GMT)
The Argentinian international's contract at the San Siro runs out in the summer and although he has been offered a new two-year deal he has yet to put pen to paper. That has alerted CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow who are keen to step in should contract negotiations collapse.
Cruz is thought to be holding out for a three-year deal and an increase on his current wages although the player?s agent, Jorge Cyterszpiller, has revealed that it is Cruz's desire to stay with the Nerazzurri.
"We agreed to meet in January," Cyterszpiller told Corriere dello Sport. "We are serious people and we confirm the absolute priority is for Inter. I am working to obtain an important contract - the one Julio deserves."
Reports in Italy claim that the rival Moscow clubs have both already offered Cruz a deal and can guarantee him a regular place in their starting line-up. First team football has been available at Inter to the 31-year-old this season but he has had to play in rotation with Adriano and Obafemi Martins and with the expected arrival of Victor Obinna in January competition for places is set to become even fiercer.
