Argentina will face Chile in a soccer friendly on April 18, the Argentine Football Association said in a Tuesday statement.
Alfio Basile, manager of Argentina's Albiceste team will summon only Argentina players, ignoring European-based players for the first time in many years.
The game is a tune-up for the Copa America, a showpiece competition for national soccer teams which will be held mid-year in Venezuela, to which Argentina will send a team made up of at least 10 local club players.
In Buenos Aires, 21 players have been called up and trained every week by Basile from the start of the month. Two of these have taken part in the World Cup in Germany last June. They are Independiente goalkeeper Oscar Ustari and Boca Juniors striker Rodrigo Palacio.
