Zanetti backs Inter Milan's Riquelme push (2 Jan 2006 07:41 GMT)
Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has joined Juan Veron in backing the club's pursuit of Villarreal midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme.
"Riquelme is a great champion," said Zanetti. "Can he be the heir of Veron? He is very important, but his qualities are different."
"He is demonstrating in Spain as with Argentina that he is a player of great value."
