Tevez to act in autobiographical film (19 May 2007 06:14 GMT)
Carlos 'Apache' Tevez will be immortalised on celluloid soon as the Albiceleste and West Ham striker is due to make a foray into film by playing himself in an Argentinean production.
Tevez is known for his rough-and-tumble upbringing in the brutal neighbourhood of Buenos Aires nicknamed Fort Apache after the Paul Newman film about a no-go area in the Bronx, New York.
The player bears the scars of his childhood literally, the extensive neck and chest burns a legacy of him accidentally pulling a pan of boiling pasta off the stove as a child. This plus his deliberately conserved chipped and cracked teeth make up the unique image.
This will be used as the idea is to do an 'other-side-of-the-tracks' view as in 8 Mile, the player recreating the adult side of his escape from Fort Apache and rise to fame and fortune as he aped his domestic success in Brazil before heading to West Ham and a real odyssey.
The player is proud of his simple Buenos Aires roots and is a fan of a musical style known as Cumbia, being the manager of a band known as Piola Vago. The player himself revealed plans as he spoke to Argentine football supplement Olé!
"I'm doing a film about my life and its going to be really good, but I'll say more when I know more", teased Tevez.
