Basile to sleep on team selection (8 Jul 2007 09:43 GMT)
Argentina coach Alfio Basile said he had still not settled on his team for Sunday's Copa America quarter-final against Peru and he would sleep on the matter.
Basile is expected to stick with the basis of the team which beat the United States 4-1 and Colombia 4-2 to reach the last eight with a game to spare.
This would include Javier Mascherano, Juan Sebastian Veron, Esteban Cambiasso and Juan Roman Riquelme in midfield with Diego Milito - replacing the injured Hernan Crespo - partnering Lionel Messi in attack.
However, the gravel-voiced coach said he was considering a more attacking line-up.
This could include bringing in Pablo Aimar, who brought new life to the attack in the game against the USA, Carlos Tevez for Cambiasso, or possibly Tevez for Milito.
"I want to have another look at Peru and then I will see if it's worth making any tactical variations," Basile said. "The idea is to make the team more offensive. I want to give more confidence to the team and I prefer not to change it because I like it," he added.
"But I'm thinking about a couple of changes. I'll decide everything tonight with my pillow."
