Fergusson excited over Tevez (7 Aug 2007 07:28 GMT)
The Argentine is on the brink of completing a complicated move to Old Trafford from West Ham United, and Ferguson believes the striker will be a huge asset to his champions.
"Tevez has shown he can be one of the top strikers in the world," said the Scot. "The boy has got something exceptional in him. We experienced it in the last game against West Ham at Old Trafford."
"He was a real handful to us. Tevez trained with us on Friday and Saturday. I was surprised how well he did. He looked quite sharp. It would be nice to think I could have him available for the Reading game. But if not then, I'm sure the following week. I can see Tevez and Wayne Rooney playing together. I have read all these opinions about the two of them being identical. I don't think they are at all," he added.
"What you can say is they both have a similar physique, they are both two-footed, they are both quick-ish, and they can both beat a man. I don't think it's a bad thing in terms of the similarities. When they get playing with each other they will hopefully get an understanding about where they are playing," Fergusson ended.
