Carlos Tevez is finally a United player (11 Aug 2007 09:50 GMT)
Carlos Tevez is now an officially a Manchester United player after moving from West Ham and signing a two-year loan deal.
The deal was held up due to a dispute over the ownership of the player, who controversially arrived at West Ham from Corinthians a year ago and eventually saved the club from relegation, but in doing so created quite a storm.
However, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is now relieved to have completed the deal, which has understandably been well examined by the authorities.
"It is completely understandable the Premier League wanted to scrutinise every detail," he said. "I am happy with that because then we know we are getting a player in the right circumstances, with everything clarified and cleared by the appropriate authorities. We know he is our player but even if it was all done today, I wouldn't use him on Sunday. It would more likely be against Manchester City next weekend."
