Real Madrid claim they have agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign Argentine defender Gabriel Heinze.
The 29-year-old Argentina international had been expected to leave Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window on August 31 despite seeing a move to Liverpool blocked by a Premier League arbitration panel on Wednesday.
The defender has now sealed a move to Spain after Real revealed they had reached agreement with United to sign the unsettled full-back.
"Real Madrid and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Heinze," read a statement on their official website. "The Argentinian will sign a contract for the next four seasons and will be immediately incorporated into Bernd Schuster's squad."
