Pekerman goes to Europe to meet players (14 Jan 2006 17:02 GMT)
As we informed the other day, Jose Pekerman left last night from Ezeiza international airport and traveled to Europe, to meet and observe Argentine footballers who play in various teams there.
Spanish and Italian leagues host the bulk of the players that are usually called up to play for the national team, although there are key players Crespo and Heinze in english premiership too.
Pekerman is interested in the injured players Roberto Ayala (Valencia) and Gabriel Heinze (Manchester United).
Crespo and Javier Saviola (Seville) are also suffering from minor injuries.
Pekerman will also watch Luis Gonzalez (Porto).
"With less than six months to go before the start of the World Cup, we have to take all kinds of precautions," Pekerman said.
